Till exempel har man i\u00a0 en studie kunnat se att tillskott av vitamin K2 f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttrade art\u00e4rstyvheten.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>B\u00e5de K1 och K2 har varit k\u00e4nda sedan 1930-talet. K1 finns i gr\u00f6nsaker som broccoli, spenat, sallad och k\u00e5l medan K2, eller menakinon som det kallas, bildas av bakterier i mag-tarmkanalen. K2 finns f\u00f6retr\u00e4desvis i animaliska livsmedel som k\u00f6tt, \u00e4gg och mejeriprodukter, men \u00e4ven i in\u00e4lvsmat som lever och njure. Men det \u00e4r framf\u00f6r allt K1, K2 har flera andra viktiga funktioner. Det bidrar till exempel till att st\u00e4rka benstomme och skelett, genom att h\u00e4mma nedbrytningen och stimulera bildandet av ny benmassa. Detta sker bland annat tillsammans med vitamin A och D som styr kalcium \u2013 det benuppbyggande mineralet \u2013 dit det ska. Den funktionen kan \u00e4ven hj\u00e4lpa till att h\u00e5lla kalcium borta fr\u00e5n blodk\u00e4rlen och bidra till god hj\u00e4rt-k\u00e4rlh\u00e4lsa genom att det f\u00f6rebygger och motverkar \u00e5derf\u00f6rkalkning\u00a0 \u2013 huvudorsaken till hj\u00e4rtattack.<\/p>\n<p>Det har visat sig att l\u00e5ga K-vitaminniv\u00e5er hos \u00e4ldre f\u00f6rknippas med \u00f6kad risk att utveckla r\u00f6relseneds\u00e4ttning. I en studie l\u00f6pte de med l\u00e5ga niv\u00e5er n\u00e4stan dubbelt s\u00e5 stor risk j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med de som hade tillr\u00e4ckliga niv\u00e5er.<\/p>\n<p>En kost rik p\u00e5 K-vitamin \u00e4r dock inte n\u00e5gon garanti f\u00f6r att vi f\u00e5r i oss vitaminet i tillr\u00e4ckliga m\u00e4ngder.
